Building TPST, Brantas Abipraya Realizes Environmentally Friendly IKN
Jakarta, 16th February 2024 - Proving its active role in dealing with waste problems in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN), PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) built an Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) in IKN. Will soon be built, on an area of 22.16 hectares, the construction of TPST 1 of the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP), Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. Starting work this year, TPST 1 KIPP IKN is targeted for completion in December 2024.
"This development is an effort by Brantas Abipraya as one of the BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises) to contribute to realizing environmentally friendly IKN, reducing waste production as far as possible and encouraging recycling. "Even during the construction of this TPST, we will control damage and environmental pollution during the construction period," said Sugeng Rochadi, Main Director of Brantas Abipraya.
He also said that TPST 1 will be built on the same stretch of location as the KIPP IKN Domestic Wastewater Treatment installation 1, which is located on an area of 22.15 ha. TPST 1 has the potential to process 74 tonnes of waste per day and 15 tonnes of sludge per day.
With a TPST land area of 1.3 ha, the waste management system at KIPP IKN requires a concept to support good city planning, which is designed to be integrated with other supporting components.
Later, with the existence of TPST 1, it can produce waste processing in the form of energy, does not produce emissions above the specified standards, 60% of the waste generated must be recycled, the waste management system is connected to the internet and can be accessed by residents, as well as residues from management minimum. Not only that, the existence of TPST 1 will not produce emissions above the specified standards (net zero emissions) and will have residue from minimum processing.
The location is close to KIPP, which is only 3 km away, so it is necessary to deal with emissions, noise and odors as well as other potential environmental impacts. Brantas Abipraya's scope of work for the construction of TPST 1 IKN includes Processing Building 1, Processing Building 2, Tower and Landscaping.
"Apart from that, in the current development, of course we will prioritize the implementation of K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) as an effort to create a healthy and safe work environment to achieve zero accidents. "Not only that, Brantas Abipraya will also work smarter in the construction of the TPST, so that this work is completed on time, at the right quality and cost," concluded Sugeng.
