Through its subsidiary, Brantas Abipraya plants tree seedlings in Padang Guci
Jakarta, January 12nd, 2024 - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has again strengthened its commitment to protecting the environment and reducing the impact of global warming. This state-owned construction company plans to plant 5,500 tree seedlings at PLTM Padang Guci-1 and PLTM Padang Guci-2, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu. PLTM Padang Guci is a power plant owned by PT Brantas Energi, a subsidiary of Brantas Abipraya. Through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, Brantas Abipraya collaborates with Brantas Energy as a form of its concern for the environment.
"This TJSL program is our effort to normalize land cover in the Padang Guci-1 PLTM and Padang Guci-2 PLTM areas because they are all plantation and forestry areas. "Not only that, this program is also to help people get quality plant seeds," said Suradi, Plt. Director of HR and General Affairs, Brantas Abipraya.
The planned location for the Tree Nursery, Planting and Maintenance Program activities is in the area of PLTM Padang Guci-1 and PLTM Padang Guci-2 in Bungin Tambun Village, Padang Guci Hulu District, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu Province. This TJSL database is also in line with Brantas Energi's motto, namely Eco Responsible. A total of 5,500 seedlings, with details of 1,100 Sengon Tree seedlings, 1,100 Mahogany Tree seedlings, 1,100 Durian Tree seedlings, 1,100 Mango Tree seedlings and 1,100 Jengkol Tree seedlings.
Separately, the Main Director of Brantas Abipraya, Sugeng Rochadi, said that planting these seeds was also a form of Brantas Abipraya's real support in the government's Net Zero Emission program through TJSL, especially in the environmental development pillar, namely Abipraya Cares for the Environment. It is hoped that this activity can improve the standard of living of the people around the PLTM.
As additional information, through the TJSL program Brantas Abipraya has previously carried out several reforestation programs. One of them is by reforesting dam areas whose construction has been completed by Brantas Abipraya, such as the Tukul Dam greenbelt in Pacitan. Not only that, Brantas Abipraya also reforested the Ciawi Dam, namely reforesting the upstream of the Ciliwung and Cisadane rivers, as well as planting 3,000 tree seedlings in Cibeureum Village, Bogor.
Suradi added, through the Abipraya Care for the Environment program, his party had also planted 12,500 sengon trees in Babakan Madang Village, Sentul, Bogor, West Java.
"The community is an important part of the progress of Brantas Abipraya, this is proof of our commitment as a construction BUMN, not only focusing on developing the country through infrastructure work but also by contributing to prosperity, helping others through the TJSL program. "Of course, the progress of Brantas Abipraya cannot be separated from community support, for this reason we invest in the community and environment in the form of the TJSL program," concluded Suradi.
