Jakarta, 21 October 2020 - Two National Strategic Projects (PSN) that are being worked on by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), namely the Tukul Dam and the Tapin Dam are targeted for completion by the end of this year, December 2020. This is to support the Government in order to increase storage volume water in Indonesia as well as national water and food security.
"Yes, these two dams have passed the filling or impounding period in early October. Tukul Dam on October 1 and Tapin Dam on October 9, "said Anwar Khoirudin, General Manager of Operations Division 2 Brantas Abipraya.
He added that these two dams are expected to help meet the needs of water and food security targets nationally, especially the supply of raw water of 54.81 m3 / second in 2024 according to the target targeted by the Ministry of PUPR (Public Works and Public Housing).
The Tukul Dam, which is located in Karanggede Village, Arjosari District, Pacitan, East Java, was started by Brantas Abipraya in 2013 and the initial filling was started in early October, this dam will later be able to improve the welfare of the Pacitan community through the provision of clean water, because this dam has has a capacity of 56.77 cubic meters and is projected to supply 300 liters of raw water per second. Not only that, its existence is also able to flow irrigated land covering an area of 600 hectares (ha), while the height of this dam building reaches 70 meters.
Apart from the Tukul Dam, Brantas Abipraya is also targeting completion of the Tapin Dam this December. Located in Pipitak Jaya Village, Piani District, Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Anwar said that the construction of this dam was proof of Brantas Abipraya's commitment to participate in efforts to improve the progress of agricultural development in South Kalimantan, especially the welfare of farmers.
Not without reason, this dam has a capacity of 56.77 cubic meters, with irrigation services in Tapin Regency of 5,472 ha. The filling of the dam, which was included in the National Strategic Project (PSN), was marked by the closing of the circumvention tunnel gate by the Regent of Tapin, HM Arifin Arpan (9/10). Arifin hopes that the people in the area around the dam can jointly protect and maintain the dam.
Focusing on contributing to encouraging food security in Indonesia, Brantas Abipraya is passionate about building 12 dams and irrigation works that are spread across various points in Indonesia, "Our (Brantas Abipraya) spirit in dedicating ourselves to this country is clear evidence of the implementation of BUMN values, namely AKHLAK, "Said Anwar.
Not without reason, AKHLAK itself is the value of BUMN which consists of Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative. As an application of Loyal values, through the spirit of developing the country, Abipraya showed his nationalism to Indonesia.
