Visited by Jokowi, Brantas Abipraya is ready to boost tourism in Labuan Bajo through two of his works01 October 2020
President Joko Widodo visited Labuan Bajo to review the progress of tourism area development (1/10). Predicted to become a super premium destination, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), known as one of the state-owned construction companies, also contributed by building a Multipurpose Wae Kelambu Terminal and National Strategic Area Arrangement (KSPN) in the Marina Beach Area, Bukit Pramuka. The two projects located in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), worked on by Brantas Abipraya, did not escape the President's visit.
During his visit to two projects by Brantas Abipraya that also support the development of tourist areas in Labuan Bajo, Jokowi was accompanied by the Director General (Dirjen) of Bina Marga of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Hedy Rahadian and Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat as NTT Governor. Meanwhile, representatives from Brantas Abipraya, also attended by Bambang E. Marsono as the President Director.
"This is one form of our commitment, showing that BUMN is always there for Indonesia by taking part in developing Labuan Bajo tourism. In addition to working on a multi-functional terminal, we (Brantas Abipraya) we will also organize a tourist area on Marina Beach. Even though it is a pandemic, we make sure this work will be completed on time, ”said Bambang E. Marsono.
Bambang, or who is familiarly called Bem, added that being one of President Joko Widodo's flagship projects, the Multipurpose Wae Kelambu Terminal for Labuan Bajo Port is part of the revitalization of Labuan Bajo Port. It is targeted to be completed by the end of this year, later this terminal will give a new face to Labuan Bajo Port. Apart from being logistical traffic, this terminal will also load and unload containers and cargo so that it will separate tourism and container loading and unloading activities at the Labuan Bajo Port.
On the same day, Jokowi also took the time to review the KSPN Arrangement project in the Marina Bukit Pramuka Beach Area. To work on this project, Bem said that it would take up to 15 months, so it is targeted for completion in December 2021. This project is one of the works that will turn Labuan Bajo into a waterfront city.
Brantas Abipraya focuses on working on Zone 3 and Zone 5. Work in Zone 3 includes construction of a passenger terminal, tourist information center, office and waiting room. The excitement of the atmosphere in this zone will also be even more fun when it's finished. This is because Brantas Abipraya will also build an amphitheater or open arena. So that later here the tourists can enjoy various entertainment and performances. Not only that, its beauty is also prepared by building a statue. Plus, in Zone 5, Brantas Abipraya will prepare locations for stalls to ensure the comfort of visitors while they are here, because they can have a culinary tour.
Optimistic about completing the two projects on time and on quality does not mean that this construction state-owned company will ignore the priorities of health and safety during this pandemic. Workers are required to apply a disciplined health protocol, and the project area does not escape routine disinfection. "We are very serious in implementing health protocols both at the head office and in projects, to be able to continue to be productive during this pandemic, our Board of Directors has made a virtual patrol schedule which will run from September to December 2020," concluded Bem.
