The signing of the PLTM Batanghari Financing Certification, Tumpang Muhammad: BREN Focuses on Green Energy

PT Brantas Energi (BREN) is a subsidiary of PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) which is engaged in the development of New and Renewable Energy (EBT), continues to prove its seriousness in developing NRE.

This commitment is evidenced by the signing of a certificate of financing date for the PLTM which is located in Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province with a capacity of 5.1 MW.

The signing was carried out by the Director of PT Brantas Total Energi which is a Special Purpose Company (SPC) owned by PT Brantas Energi Syaiful Arif with the General Manager of PT PLN Parent Unit for West Sumatra, Toni Wahyu Wibowo accompanied by Tumpang Muhammad as Director of Finance, HC, & Risk Management of PT Brantas Energi Tumpang Muhammad at Hotel Santika Premiere Slipi Jakarta. With the official signing of the financing certificate, this is a sign that the PLTM Batanghari is bankable and will soon start construction work for the PLTM Batanghari. The Batanghari PLTM has a capacity of 3 x 1.7 MW which is located in Sembilan Koto District, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra Province.

The Batanghari PLTM is a power plant that utilizes an existing dam belonging to the Ministry of PUPR. This PLTM produces electrical energy by utilizing the potential of renewable energy, so that this power plant is environmentally friendly. The construction of the Batanghari PLTM will be carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) as the holding company of PT Brantas Energi. Tumpang Muhammad said, "The start of the Batanghari PLTM construction activity is a testament to our ability to develop new & renewable energy investments. The Batanghari PLTM is one of our 3 power plants that utilize the existing dam belonging to the Ministry of PUPR. We hope that in the coming year, we will be able to use more State Property (BMN) which has the potential to produce electricity to be used as an environmentally friendly power plant,” he explained.

In 2022, PT Brantas Energi through its Special Purpose Company has carried out three construction activities with the State Property Utilization (BMN) scheme including the Titab PLTM with a capacity of 2 x 0.64 MW located in Buleleng Regency, Bali, PLTM Pandanduri with a capacity of 2 x 0.29 MW is located in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara and the latest is the Batanghari PLTM with a capacity of 3 x 1.7 MW in West Sumatra.
