Jakarta, 24 January 2023 - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has shown its seriousness in participating in infrastructure development for the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan (East Kalimantan).
"Currently Brantas Abipraya is working on the completion of the Sepaku Semoi Dam, Arrangement of the National Axis Phase I, the construction of the KIPP Reservoir, the Sepaku River Flood, the construction of the Karangjoang - KKT Kariangau IKN Toll Road and the Sepaku Package 2 Drinking Water Management System (SPAM) at IKN," said Sugeng Rochadi as President Director of Brantas Abipraya.
Sugeng Rochadi added, in the construction of these projects, Brantas Abipraya is certainly committed to providing quality assurance and the quality of construction work by paying attention to environmental sustainability aspects with the target of completion on time.
In an effort to produce superior construction works, Brantas Abipraya together with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) held Training and Certification for Construction Workers (TKK) as part of the preparations for the construction of the IKN infrastructure at Penajem Paser Utara, East Kalimantan in August 2022.
Held right at the Sepaku Semoi Dam project which is being worked on by Brantas Abipraya, this training and certification program is an effort to increase HR competency in the construction sector which is one of the PUPR programs in support of the vision and mission of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in the 2019 period -2024.
Brantas Abipraya will fully support this Government program as an effort to accelerate the distribution of certified construction workers, especially in IKN. It is hoped that this activity will later have an impact on the development of IKN infrastructure, as well as contribute to driving the regional economy in East Kalimantan and its surroundings.
As additional information, several projects that are being worked on by Brantas Abipraya include the Sepaku Semoi Dam Project, whose function will later be optimized to provide raw water and flood control in the IKN area and the surrounding areas. Planned to be completed in mid-2023, Sepaku Semoi, which is managed by Brantas Abipraya, will be able to provide 2,000/second raw water in the IKN Nusantara area and 500/second in the city of Balikpapan. The presence of this dam is also able to reduce flooding by 55%.
Not only that, BUMN Karya is also completing the construction of Phase I of the Arrangement of the National Axis. The work on the Arrangement of the National Axis, which is a series of open spaces, is targeted to be completed in December this year. Apart from that, Brantas Abipraya is also working on the Football Flood Management in Sepaku District, East Kalimantan. Targeted for completion in 2024, later this project will provide several benefits including reducing social and economic losses to the community due to the destructive power of water during floods and tackling sedimentation problems due to infrastructure development in the Sepaku Watershed Area.
"In building and developing infrastructure for the new national capital, Brantas Abipraya will continue to focus and fully contribute, working even harder for national infrastructure. We will be committed to supporting the government in building a new IKN or capital in East Kalimantan." closed Sugeng.
