Brantas Abipraya Boosts Development of an International Research Center in Humbang, North Sumatra
14 March 2023Jakarta, 14 March 2023 - Contributing to supporting the transformation of the agricultural system in Indonesia, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) is boosting the development of the Herbal and Horticulture Technology Science Park (TSTH2). Located in Pollung, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra, this infrastructure will later be used as a center for research and innovation in the development of herbs and horticulture, which is used for research on the development of high quality and international standard horticultural seeds.
"As a contractor, through the construction of TSTH2 Brantas Abipraya is showing its active role in supporting the Government to face the challenges of the food crisis. It is hoped that this will help the development of national agriculture in terms of research and agricultural systems," said Purnomo.
Purnomo added that currently the progress of the project has reached 96%. Some of the developments undertaken by Brantas Abipraya include the Agricultural Research Building, the construction of the Herbal-1 Research Building, the construction of an employee mess, the Research Utility Building, the construction of three Screen Houses, the construction of a Smart Green House, the Agricultural Control House, and supporting buildings plus additional area infrastructure. .
The construction of TSTH2 is proof of Brantas Abipraya's commitment to continue to contribute to Indonesia, which at this time is to support the establishment of an international standard research and innovation center for medicinal and horticultural plants. Here will later become a research center for the refining of superior agricultural seeds.
Through the development of TSTH2, it will also be able to support the implementation of a food estate at the national level. In accordance with the principles of environmentally friendly buildings so that they can provide many benefits to the community. THST2 is a national priority program in the development of national food storage.
As additional information, the commencement of the development was marked by the laying of the first stone (groundbreaking), on Thursday (23/12/2021) by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
