Amid the Pandemic COVID-19, Brantas Abipraya won the IT Top Award and Top Telco 202005 May 2020
Jakarta, 2 May 2020 - In the current turbulence era, not only Indonesia, the whole world is experiencing an economic slowdown due to the global disaster, Covid-19. So that this greatly impacts the business climate, but this does not necessarily make PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) stop making achievements. This was proven by this state-owned contracting company by winning three awards at the same time from the activities of the Top IT and Top Telco 2020 Award (29/4) organized by ITech Magazine with the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Ministry of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Assessment and Application of Technology.
"We pocketed three (awards) namely the Top Digital Innovation Category Award 2020, Top CEO 2020 and Top CIO / Chief Information Officer 2020. No doubt to all these achievements thanks to the hard work and full commitment of the company in moving forward to carry out digital transformation continuously , "Said Bambang E. Marsono as the Main Director of Brantas Abipraya.
Bambang added, innovation is needed as an answer to face the challenges ahead presented by the times to keep growing. The stretching of changes and developments in the digital world is also what drives Abipraya's people to work to create the latest findings, namely the Implementation of Building Information Modeling Technology (BIM).
The supply and introduction of the latest technology to 250 Abipraya engineers was carried out to accelerate infrastructure development. The learning is also done through the online meeting method, so participants do not need to come together in a place. This is in line with regulations issued by the Ministry of Health, namely PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions). He said, this online training method was the most effective method, because it could reach participants who were in projects throughout the archipelago.
Abipraya's seriousness in implementing this BIM was carried out by forming a BIM Task Force Team in each of the Company's business units. The team was formed to oversee the tender process. While in its implementation, the Task Force team will provide BIM understanding to implementers by way of mentoring in the initial period of the project.
Digitalization in the implementation also applies the concept of lean construction whose application utilizes BIM data. The lean construction method is focused on eliminating activities that have no added value or are considered wasteful. This also has a positive effect on the timeliness of completion, quality, and operational costs incurred.
Some Abipraya projects have been running with BIM technology, including the Ujung Menteng Flats (Rusun) Project, Airnav LPPNI Office Building Project, Cakung Cilincing Rusun Project, Banjarmasin CY Project, Rahabangga River Bridge Project and Asera River Bridge Project.
Attended by Miftakhul Anas, always the Corporate Secretary of Brantas Abipraya at the event, Anas said that preparing Abipraya personnel who are in the project at the moment is the most important strategy to maintain Abipraya's growth performance in the future. This is reinforced by the provision of knowledge and skills improvement to the mastery of the latest technology, BIM as a form of corporate transformation in the 4.0 era.
"Abipraya's seriousness in implementing BIM can also be seen from BIM's official guidelines which he pocketed from the British Standards Institution (BSI). PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) is the first contractor in Indonesia which is armed with BIM guidelines," Anas added.
Adding to its aggressiveness in the fields of technology and innovation, in addition to the previous BIM, the Abipraya IT team has also produced other brand-new technologies, one of which is the Abipraya Mobile platform. This platform can integrate all Abipraya IT functions in it.
"Hopefully the acquisition of these three awards will not make Abipraya satisfied and stop innovating, because we realize that BIM and our previous innovations can successfully boost the company's performance. This achievement cannot be separated from the hard work of the Abipraya People and of course it will continue to encourage the Abipraya People to work to give their best, "concluded Bambang.
