5 BUMNs to Work on Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road13 November 2020
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has established a consortium of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) that will work on the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road. The five BUMNs are PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk with a share of 60 percent, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk 12.5 percent, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk 12.5 percent, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk 12, 5 percent, and PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) 2.5 percent.
The BUMN consortium signed the toll road concession agreement (PPJT) today (13/11). "With the signing of the PPTJ, I am very grateful because later Joglosemar will become a connected area," said the Minister of PUPR while attending the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll PPJT event which was broadcast via video streaming from the Borobudur area, Central Java, Friday (13/11).
Basuki ensured that infrastructure projects in President Joko Widodo's second term would continue to be carried out. According to him, this was done by utilizing the infrastructure that had been built in the previous five years. "We will equip the Trans Java toll road with the Java, Batang, Subang, and Gresik areas," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimoeljono. Meanwhile, Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of the PUPR Ministry, Danang Parikesit, hopes that the construction of the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road will improve connectivity and the economy in Indonesia. In particular, said Danang, increased connectivity and economy in Semarang, Solo and Yogyakarta.
"This toll road is expected to support the super priority strategic area of Borobudur Temple," said Danang. Danang confirmed that the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road was also included in the national strategic project (PSN). The project has been proposed by the PUPR Minister to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs since 7 December 2016.
In addition, Danang said the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road auction will begin on November 25, 2019. Furthermore, the determination of the winner will be announced on November 6, 2020.
Danang said, the Yogyakarta-Bawen toll road construction will be carried out in August 2021 after the land acquisition is complete. "Hopefully this can be completed quickly. It is expected to be completed and operated in the third quarter of 2023," said Danang.
